Trade Show PresentationTrade shows are where the business people go to meet, shake hands and not necessarily do business, but certainly talk about it. At any time of the year and almost every corner of the World, there is a trade show taking place. Large international companies involved in every aspect of industry and commerce spend a very large percentage of their annual marketing budget on being represented at trade shows. You would think that in the age of the internet age, trade shows would be a thing of past, and deals would be done on line. Many experts say that the opposite applies and that because of the internet, and people being able to do business on line, there is an increased need for these global meetings. There is no doubt that trade shows are going to be with us for a long time, and anyone who has attended a trade show, no matter in which field, cannot fail to be impressed by the efforts that companies go to create a series, business like and lasting impression. What is becoming the major feature of these trade shows in recent years is the standardization of the company's marketing image, and the where the connection is made between the company's live image and online image. Marketing orientated companies have succeeded in establishing a uniform image, and a standard livery. People like uniformity and that is the feature that will always stand out when they present their company and its products at a trade presentation. The company's sales staff will all be wearing the same clothes, and each will have a name tag from the company stating their name and their position. The company's literature will be clearly on display, again bearing the same livery, logos and contact information and, of course, their web site details. Many potential buyers and distributors will attend a trade show, simply to gather information. Others will like to begin a dialogue with companies whose products interest them at the trade show. They will be shown around the company's booth at the show, preferably by their local representative. If the representative is not available, then some other member from the sales staff will talk with them, and most importantly, exchange contact details for later. Interaction at a trade show is the most important thing that companies look for and they will make a special effort to make their booths attractive and put on a special trade show presentation. Obviously the larger the company the larger the sales space they can afford to rent and the more spectacular stand them can afford to build. These are the things that capture they eye of a potential customer, and draw them to it like moths to a flame. However smaller or less established companies should not be deterred by the fact, and should make a determined effort to present their company and its products in a professional and aesthetic manner. Trade shows, no matter where they are held in the World, usually have exhibitors made up from companies locally based as well as international conglomerates. These international companies may be exhibiting their products at exhibitions all over the World all year long, Many of them are so large and have such a diverse range of products, that they may be appearing at tow or three trade shows during the same week, in a different corner of the globe, These companies have a marketing budget that is so large that they have an entire division involved in the planning and implementation of their trade show presentation schedule, as well as an annual budget that many companies would gladly have as their annual sales turnover. These large conglomerates are well aware how important appearing at trade shows is important to their business, and how important an impressive and professional presentation is to their image. That is why they are prepared to invest large sums of money to ensure that no screw is left enlightened to create a perfect trade show presentation. |
