Presentation ServicesIn today's marketing orientated society companies are often judged not only by their products or the depths of their customer services, but increasingly more as to how they present themselves in the global market place. At one time, smaller companies found it hard to make a break through as they were unable to create a favorable impression to potential customers due to their lack of proper presentation materials. However all this has changed, and over the last decade or so. The miracle that is the internet has opened the gates for small to medium sized companies to present their goods and services at the same levels as the multi-national companies or corporations and at a fraction of the cost that it once was. Small companies are now able to avail themselves of presentation services that rival large company presentations. The first breakthrough in presentation services technology was the web site. Once again, in the early days of the global highway, only the largest companies could afford to put together a web site that would do their company and its products justice. However internet technology has made it possible that any company, no matter how small and how meager its advertising budget could present them in an appropriate manner and compete with the big boys. The costs of designing and producing user friendly and aesthetically pleasing web sites has been reduced by the fact that there are now so many user friendly programs on the market that can be purchased by wed site designers and producers at reasonable costs. One of the most popular is Macromedia Dreamweaver, which will allow even the least experienced designer to put together a web site without any scripting knowledge whatsoever. These web sites can be produced incorporating all the latest graphics and animation effects, utilizing animation and graphics programs such as Paint Shop Pro, Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop is principally known for its ability to handle digital photographs. However it does have some fairly well developed attributes to produce graphics, and at a reasonably high level. Once a company produces a web site then the next step is to produce printed materials that will enhance their image even further. Once again up till about five years ago, this was an expensive and often unworkable proposition for smaller companies. However the advent of the digital age has allowed smaller companies to bid farewell to that problem. Today through the development of short run digital printing, companies can order catalogues, fliers in minimum runs, sometimes as low as fifty pieces at a time. For developing companies the arrival of digital printing has meant so much. A classic example of the advantages of printing in short runs for these companies is many fold. For example, as they may be in a period of continuous growth these companies may move premises a lot, especially for the first year or so. By restricting their printing needs to small batches, they can eliminate waste or the need to attach new address stickers to their literature, which can create a highly unprofessional image. Another aspect of the internet that has worked wonders for smaller companies in the last two or three years only, is the vast pool of highly talented freelancers now selling their services online. At one time smaller companies were forced to pay exorbitant prices to design studios to purchase presentation services. Nowadays these same services can be readily accessed online and at a fraction of the cost. From turnkey service providers to copywriters, web designers and producers, graphic artists and specialists in every subject, these people, sometimes students, often based in developing countries where overheads are lower, and usually working from their home, provide top quality presentation services. All in all, as the global stage shrinks and technology improves, companies who desire to project a uniform global image can readily do so in today's internet World. |
